MANILA, Philippines – Millions of Filipino Catholics attend Mass in churches, aside from visiting cemeteries, during the annual commemoration of the dead called Undas.
At the Manila Cathedral, a Mass is held at 12:10 pm (Manila time) on Friday, November 1, for the Solemnity of All Saints.
All Saints’ Day, November 1, is a day to honor the dead who are believed to be with God in heaven.
These saints include popular figures in the Catholic roster, such as Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, as well as those who, though relatively unknown, lived a saintly life on earth.
All Souls’ Day, November 2, is a day to pray for the deceased who are believed to be in purgatory.
