MANILA, Philippines – Ahead of the summer season, Philippine Airlines (PAL) expanded its local network by introducing new routes.
Starting May 1, the flag carrier will offer daily flights to Siargao and Basco in Batanes from Clark International Airport in Pampanga. This expands its current schedule of three weekly flights to Siargao and four from Batanes.
“These new daily services demonstrate Philippine Airlines’ commitment to boost Philippine tourism in ways that support our nation’s vibrant local neighborhoods and business communities,” PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang said in a statement on Thursday, March 6.
This is the schedule for the daily Siargao flights:
- Clark to Siargao (via PR 2875): Leaves Clark at 1:45 pm, arrives in Siargao at 3:50 pm
- Siargao to Clark (via PR 2876): Leaves Siargao at 7:15 am, arrives in Clark at 9:15 am
Flights to Basco, Batanes, meanwhile, will be scheduled in the morning:
- Clark to Basco, Batanes (via PR 2688): Leaves Clark at 9:45 am, arrives in Batanes at 11:15 am
- Basco, Batanes to Clark (via PR 2689): Leaves Batanes at 11:45 am, arrives in Clark at 1:15 pm
PAL also introduced its Cebu-Catarman route this week.
Its maiden flight to Northern Samar from the Queen City of the South took off on Tuesday, March 4. The flag carrier will be offering Cebu-Catarman flights every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday with the following schedule:
- Cebu to Catarman (via PR 2653): Leaves Cebu at 9:50 am, arrives in Catarman at 10:55 am
- Catarman to Cebu (via PR 2654): Leaves Catarman at 11:25 am, arrives in Cebu at 12:30 pm
This is the flag carrier’s 22nd route in its Cebu hub.
“Travelers from Northern Samar may now use PAL’s Cebu gateway to connect conveniently to Boracay, Coron, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Siargao,” Ang said in a separate statement on Wednesday, March 5. – Rappler.com
